Before films and trailers are made the ideas of how the film/trailer is going to look is story boarded. The storyboard is created by showing what is going to be happening in each shot, and in each shot you can illustrate and write what is going on, who's going to be in that shot, where is it going to be and how long it is going to be on screen for. After storyboarding creating the trailer/film becomes much easier because you now know what is in every shot. Story boarding was developed at the Walt Disney Studio during the early 1930s.
